Art & Artist

Since beginning her professional journey, Chris’s paintings have already entered private collections in Germany and the United States. Her two main bodies of work, Lowcountry and Ripple, reflect a period of profound inner and outer transformation. Lowcountry is inspired by the tidal flow, shifting skies, and raw natural textures of coastal South Carolina. Ripple is deeply personal, shaped by a time of great change: crossing continents, discovering a new culture, and building a life in Charleston. It is influenced by her transatlantic journey and the ever-changing beauty of transition.

Chris holds a master’s degree in English and Gallo-Romance Studies and has always been drawn to how language, place, and identity intersect. Raised on frequent visits to London, Paris, Florence, and Rome, she was captivated early on by the silent energy of art and architecture. Today, painting is not an act to control for her but one of surrender.

She enters each painting through stillness – by watching, listening, and stepping back. But the work itself isn’t still. It demands, it disrupts, it moves. The result is daring, unconventional, and always reaching for something just beyond form.

Once the art is created, it is there to share – an invitation into a space for others to connect, reflect, and experience.
